Dr. Carol Williams

Prize-winning British musician Carol Williams, D.M.A., ARAM, FRCO, FTCL, ARCM, is a concert organist, pianist, and composer. A diplomate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, she continued her studies with Daniel Roth at Saint Sulpice in Paris prior to her residency in the United States to study with Thomas Murray at Yale University and McNeil Robinson at the Manhattan School of Music.

Named Civic Organist Emerita following her fifteen years of service to the city of San Diego, Dr. Williams was the Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society and held the post of Artist in Residence at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral San Diego. Presently the Artist in Residence at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta, she continues to bring her love of the organ to millions through her interviews, presentations, and international concerts. Carol presents a global documentary series, “TourBus,” and hosts a YouTube talk show known as “On The Bench with Dr. Carol,” during which she interviews her colleagues in the musical world.

Williams performs nearly eighty recitals and concerts annually. A frequent guest soloist with the world’s finest orchestras, her performance schedule has taken her to prestigious venues in the United States, England, France, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Monaco, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Singapore, Russia, and China, where she helped inaugurate the organ in Beijing’s Forbidden City Concert Hall.

Viscount North America applauds Carol’s ability to engage new audiences for the pipe organ with her musicality, charisma, humor, and diverse programming, as she collaborates with jazz, blues, pop, and rock musicians beyond her stature as a respected classical musician.
